Wedding Coordinator, a Flexible Role
Nov 13th, 2008
Any wedding is going to be a major feat of planning, with even a simple wedding costing thousands of dollars. You can easily get hooked on the newest trends and try to have it all. Well, if you are going down that route, why go the whole hog and employ a wedding consultant.
It may not seem logical to add another expense to the list, but have you considered that it could save you money in the long run? With her contacts among the many businesses that you will need to deal with, she can probably get you better deals than you could get by working independently. She will be putting lots of business their way and they will pull out the stops to keep her happy.
As a minimum, she can prepare a timeline and a checklist so that you know when to start planning and when to contact the companes you require. And a good wedding planner will be able to live up to your dreams but keep to your budget.
Whether you are teeming with ideas but can’t make a decision or you just don’t know where to start, your planner can rescue you. Her creative input can be invaluable, but what about the mundane stuff, the details? When you start to list the things that need to be attended to in putting a wedding together, it can be quite overwhelming.
If you have the money, you can leave it all to your wedding planning service. Working through her checklist, she can agree each item with you and then you can safely let her take care of everything. Nothing will be left out and it will all be initiated at the right time so that it all works out on the day.
However, the scope of the wedding planning service is flexible, with the level of involvement being reflected in the cost. Sure, it would be great to get it all done for you and drop the stress, but that would would also cost the most. The couple and the wedding planner can agree on the scope of her role.
There may be some parts of the planning that you would like to take a more hands on approach with. Maybe you have friends in catering who would help to arrange that aspect of the event. You might prefer to do most of the practical stuff yourself and just use your wedding planner for artistic ideas.
At the very least, she can help you to prepare a timeline and a checklist that you can work from so that you know when to start the planning and when to book the services you will need. Even this amount of input could be a great contribution to a wedding day that you will remember for good reasons.
