Steps to Choosing the Perfect Honeymoon Locations

Aug 7th, 2008

The hardest part when choosing possible honeymoon locations isn’t choosing the location itself, but choosing the right accommodation based off Internet websites.

A few years ago when booking for my honeymoon location, I reserved hotel a reservation for a hotel suite in Florida via the Internet. Being a true native of Ohio, meaning I don’t leave Ohio very often; I don’t have many reliable ways of checking out a hotel. The Internet isn’t always very reliable, as I found out when I arrived at the hotel in Florida and the hotel for wasn’t the same hotel that I made reservations for. The hotel that was pictured on the website of the hotel I reserved a suite stood, in all its white pristine glory, next to the one that I reserved with, which really wasn’t much to look at. This may have happened to you or someone you know and the experience may have left you wondering how can you avoid this from happening to you?

Judging an Accommodation by Its Website.

According to Susan Breslow Sardone, there are several things you can do to turn your honeymoon location into one of the perfect locations you have ever experienced.

One of the first things to check for is, is the website easy to navigate? Most often you can tell a company’s character by how they upkeep their site. Are there problems, links to pages with information that aren’t working? Or do they not tell you everything? Their reservation rates will also be kept updated.
What do they say regarding the location? For example, do they say it is on the beach or just a short walk from the beach? Do they say it is in the “financial district”? Chances are if they say it is just a short walk from the beach or if the hotel is located in the “financial district”, the hotel isn’t located as close to anything as you would like. There will be a lot of driving involved.
Are there children splashing excitedly in water (either the ocean or pool? IF you do not want to go somewhere with a lot of children, stay clear of that particular hotel.
Does the hotel offer a “free breakfast” on their website? IF so, you should call to make sure not only what is offered as a part of the free breakfast, but also if it is offered for free through room service, and make sure gratuity is not attached. Gratuity usually is about 18% of the bill.

If you could answer yes to any of the four things to avoid above, then the hotel is not the perfect accommodation for your honeymoon location. Just hang in there, if you really want a particular location to be your honeymoon location, you’ll find the right accommodation.
