Sweet candy and wedding favours
May 13th, 2008
Edible wedding favors are bound to please almost everyone at a wedding reception. Whether you opt for sweet or savory items you and your guests are likely to enjoy them. If you have a special wrapper made up it will look that little bit special and even a simple bar of chocolate will be a popular choice.
Some people go out of their way to ensure the chocolate is from a specialist candy or quality department store. Most wedding candy wrappers will have the details of the bride and groom plus the date and venue of the wedding which can be kept as a memento of the special day.
Some brides and grooms may even decide to have their pictures on the wrapper along with their names and the wedding date. Why not have a tin filled with different types of candy as your edible wedding favor to your guests. Once again, it is easy to have the tin given the personal touch with the bride and grooms details on it. These tins are also useful even when the candy has been eaten as they would make great little storage containers. Most people will tuck into an edible wedding favor even if they do not normally eat candy because the occasion makes them more susceptible.
One option that is growing in popularity is the use of large glass bowls containing the bride and grooms own favorite types of candy. You can give each of your guests a small container which matches the theme of the wedding such as a sand pail for a beach themed wedding or anything else which is appropriate. Then the guests can fill their containers with the candy before they leave the reception later. Cookies are an edible wedding favor that many people overlook but can be just (if not more) appealing. You can select cookies which are rather plain in nature but place them in keepsake boxes with the bride and grooms’ names as well as the date of the wedding.
Plain cookies are also easier to use if you decide to have your images inserted onto them. Cookies can be baked in a variety of shapes so all that needs to be done is to supply a picture for them to imprint. An unusual and more exclusive option for edible wedding favors is to give the guests coffee, cocoa or tea.
Often the contents are in tins which can be personalized with the bride and grooms details and makes the box or tin more collectible. If you have not found any of these suggestions appealing, there is no reason why you cannot come up with something that is completely unique for your guests!
